Now the design of the gun is very nice indeed, but the colouring looks closer to clown vomit than anything approaching cool. Something had to be done.

Thanks to the advice I found on this page and a couple of cans of spray paint, I set about painting the gun to something more fitting it’s sci-fi inspired design.

Still needs work, such as a wood/leather looking hand-grip, maybe an LED shining out of somewhere and a bit more silver/chrome paint. As it is though, much improved and rather nice looking.

Since I was rather poor at the time, I had to build the unit out of the cheapest parts I could find; the end result was still rather good, and I’m quite proud of it, but for some reason, I’ve never posted about it here.

Basic make-up:

The unit uses an old Sega Master System connected to an old TV I found on the street (three cheers for hard rubbish!), after figuring out the controller wiring, I purchased some arcade buttons and micro-switches off the intertubes and wired them in place of the controllers. Put all of that into a wooden cabinet and top off with a nice big sheet of glass (the most expensive part, btw, took me some time to afford) and, ta-da!

So, why am I doing this now? Because the table (also known as the CockMaster – Cocktail Table + Master System = Cockmaster) no longer exists. It has been taken apart, inorder to build a new, hopefully better unit. The TV within the unit had been failing, losing horizontal control and getting fuzzier all the time.  I had always thought about building it using an LCD screen and using a Mega Drive for the games.

Using the Scrabble tiles I was given on my last trip to LA.

Method:

1. Get tiles

2. Get some cufflink ends (I got mine from eBay)

3. Scratch up the back (gives the glue a surface to stick too)

4. Glue the cufflink ends onto the Scrabble tiles.

5. Done
